What are Squirrels?

Squirrels are young people aged 4 to 6 who are beginning their Scouting adventure. At 7th Littlehampton Air Scouts, our Squirrel Drey provides a fun, safe and welcoming environment where young people can make friends, build confidence and discover the world around them.

Every week, Squirrels come together to explore, learn and play through a range of exciting activities. It’s a great opportunity for young people to gain new experiences, develop social skills and begin their journey through Scouting.

What do Squirrels do?

No two weeks are the same. Squirrels enjoy a wide range of activities, including:

  • Exploring nature and the outdoors
  • Games, songs and storytelling
  • Arts, crafts and creative activities
  • Learning through play and discovery
  • Building friendships and teamwork skills
  • Helping others and getting involved in the community
  • Earning badges and awards
  • Taking part in special events and adventures

Whether they’re learning something new, making new friends or exploring the world around them, Squirrels are encouraged to have fun and try their best.

  • Led By: Friendly, trained volunteers who help every young person learn, grow and thrive
  • Uniform: Red Squirrel Scout sweatshirt and the 7th Littlehampton Air Scouts necker
